My first time designing a moving vehicle was a treat! We created a pop-up beauty bus in Arizona to educate voters about Prop 139 (a measure that would amend the state constitution to protect the right to abortion) as well as offer free piercings, makeup, temp tattoos, swag, and Plan B.
I wanted the design to feel youthful, energetic, and approachable, while being clear about the topic. Yes, it’s a beauty bar, but its also a chance to learn more about abortion rights and an activation to get out the vote. The challenge was combining beauty + abortion + voting into a singular design. To that end, a collage approach felt the most natural.
The bus hit up several cities in Arizona during October 2024 before the election. Each stop had a ton of engagement and significant amounts of social content was created from each event.
