We partnered with the Civil Rights Department in California to create a campaign under our brand: California vs Hate to create a pride float capable of traveling to several cities during the summer. After researching ways to portray inclusivity, love, and LGBTQ+ rights, we realized the most effective approach would be to create a series of posters from which we could construct a wall. The wall would then be placed on a trailer and towed by a colorful truck covered in California vs Hate magnets and messaging. We created shirts for the float rider’s to wear that tied in with our California vs Hate branding. We also created stickers and posters for them to give to the public.

I researched and commissioned several LGBTQ and California artists to create the posters for the float alongside our in-house team (including myself). Our team worked closely with our in-house production team to construct the float and various ancillary assets for the piece to be weather-proof and easily reconstructed in each city.

The response from the California Civil Rights Department and the parade participants in each city was amazing.
