We had just 10 days to get together the HOTTEST afterparty at the 2024 DNC. With a theme of sexual and abortion rights and a giant warehouse to fill, we got to work!
Since the original idea was going to be a small pop-up bodega, we pitched a “Freedoms May Go” “Vote Now” sign style approach. Once the venue changed, we took that aesthetic and applied it to a Game Room (with feminist mini golf, a “grab them by the…” claw machine, a “fight for repro rights” boxing game, and a “Wack-a-Weird-Policy” game. We also created a “Wall of Weirdos” gallery using AI painted images of Project 2025 supporters, a Creators Lounge, a merch store, a dance floor featuring a screen with meme-style animations and, of course, a bar with (branded) coconut drinks.
The asks for the event spanned from wayfinding A-frames to a “wall of posters” to vinyl for bathroom mirrors to shirts to a neon sign to vinyl for game machines to condom wrappers to a giant LED screen with animations to a fake book cover to a spin-to-win wheel to cups and napkins. I had so much fun digging into this project and watching it come to life.
